THE SHOULDER SERIES
STILL SHOTS

Well, the journey has come to an end - our hearts are heavy... and so is our bag.

We didn't hesitate to take a historic tour of Charleston in a horse-drawn carriage.

The Colonel John Stuart House.

Though hidden behind trees and fences, most of the houses in Charleston came alive as evening approached - lanterns were lit, and music echoed out of open windows and onto the streets.

We finally reached the coast.

A man and his deckhands.

After hours of failed hitch-hiking attempts at a gas station near Snellville, GA, we contacted Carol through Warmshowers.org. Even though it was 7:30pm Carol raced over in her truck and took us back to a house full of dogs, cats and family. We shared touring stories, ate chocolate covered bananas and got caught up on the Tour de France.

Carolyn's family friends from Vancouver moved to Georgia about two years ago. Needless to say, a reunion was necessary and the wonderful hospitality was appreciated.

The odds were against Carolyn and she "HAD" to climb on the train.
